Host an educator on-site for a mutually beneficial work placement
Commitment: Up to 60 hours over three weeks in the summer.
Impact: This unique opportunity gives educators first-hand insight into industry standards, broadening their skills to better prepare students for real-world careers.
Examples of past externships:
At Rosboro, externs shadowed multiple departments to understand operations in lumber, laminated beams, quality control, and planning.
At Impact NW, an extern mastered the advanced functions of a vinyl printer-cutter.
At Noisette, an extern refined recipes and timing for commercial production.
At Eugene/Springfield Fire, an extern shadowed EMTs, experienced firefighter training, and learned about the different roles and responsibilities of firefighters.
