The 2024 Youth Trades Academy is this summer!

What is the Youth Trades Academy (YTA)?

The Youth Trades Academy is a Program designed to give incoming Juniors and Seniors a basic introduction to the technical and professional skills needed to successfully apply for an apprenticeship, gain some experience to be ready for the HOPE Factory or pursue employment in the Building Trades.

All applicants must be on track to graduate and have parent/guardian and counselor approval. Applicants must also have transportation to and from the site each day.

Trades Academy dates: (MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL DAYS)
– Week 1: Monday June 17th, Tuesday June 18, Thursday June 20th
– Week 2: Monday June 24th, Tuesday June 25th, Wednesday June 25th

Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm

Location: HOPE Factory on Garfield Street in Eugene, Oregon

Please note, for consideration, the following questions will be asked on the application:

  • Why do you want to participate in the Youth Trades Academy? Identify skills, interests, accomplishments.
  • What are your long-term goals? How will this program help you meet these goals?
  • List courses you have completed, volunteer service, school extra-credit that may help you be successful in this program. (Examples: Automotive Tech, Woods/Construction, Metals/Welding, Math, Science, Volunteer Activities & Internships, Summer Work, etc.)
